About Diablo
The original Diablo in your browser. Descend beneath Tristram. The shareware version is free to play.
Press 'Play Free Demo' for the shareware version, which is the first levels of the cathedral beneath Tristram. Load your own DIABDAT.MPQ for the full game. You can import and export saves, and online multiplayer is experimental.
About the game
A modern React and TypeScript client around a WebAssembly build of devilution, the community reconstruction of Diablo's source. It builds on d07RiV's earlier DiabloWeb.
Made by Nikita Maksimov (JohnImril).
How to get Diablo running
- No files needed for the demo: the shareware data downloads on first use.
- For the full game, choose 'Load Your MPQ' and pick DIABDAT.MPQ from a legal copy. The README points to Diablo on GOG.
- Saves live only in this browser. Export them before clearing browser data.
How to play
Keep it open in one tab only. Mouse and keyboard recommended; touch works in landscape but is rough.

Tips for Diablo
- Export your save after every session: browser storage is the only thing standing between you and a lost level-30 character.
- In the shareware demo, learn the town shortcuts (Pepin's heal, Griswold's shop) before descending: the cathedral punishes unprepared trips.
An independent browser port of a classic game, not an AI original. OttersPlay does not host game files and is not affiliated with the original publisher. Some projects require files from your own copy.
