About Modern Warfare 2
Status update (ovz-game-production.up.railway.app): The ovz-game developers took the port offline after receiving a DMCA request from Activision: the site now shows only a takedown notice. OttersPlay does not provide a working mirror. Looking for something playable right now? Try Shell Shockers, Ragdoll Archers or browse all AI-made games.
The 2009 MW2 read from its own retail assets and rendered in the browser. Maps include Rust, Derrick and Miami.
The OVZ host now displays a notice saying the developers took the game down following a DMCA request. This page records what the browser port offered; it is not a working MW2 launcher.
Before the takedown, the port offered MW2 combat on maps including Rust, Derrick and Miami, with a minimap, compass, ammo counter, killfeed and equipment icons. The playable alternatives above lead to other browser projects, not replacement MW2 mirrors.
About the game
Before it was taken offline, the port read the 2009 PC game's own maps, weapons, sounds and menus and rendered them in the browser using a WebAssembly module over WebGPU. It called itself OVZ, for Open Victor Zulu, matching the name used in press coverage.
