About WipEout
The 1995 anti-gravity racer, rewritten from scratch in C by PhobosLab and compiled to WebAssembly. Smooth, fast and free.
The 1995 PlayStation anti-gravity racer: all the original tracks and teams, running at a smooth high frame rate in a browser tab.
About the game
After the original source code leaked in 2022, Szablewski wrote a clean C rewrite instead of redistributing the leak, about a fifth of the original size. He compiles it to WebAssembly and WebGL. He publicly invited Sony to 'either let it be, or shut this thing down and get a real remaster going.'
Made by Dominic Szablewski (PhobosLab).

How does it exist legally?
After the original source code leaked in 2022, Dominic Szablewski (PhobosLab) wrote a clean C rewrite instead of redistributing the leaked code. The rewrite was published in August 2023; the author had already built a WipEout model viewer in 2015.
Tips for WipEout
- Use the air brakes into corners and throttle through the exit: WipEout rewards patience on entry, aggression on exit.
- Learn one ship class before chasing track records; each team handles differently at high speed.
An independent browser port of a classic game, not an AI original. OttersPlay does not host game files and is not affiliated with the original publisher. Some projects require files from your own copy.
