Status update (ctr.cmzi.uk): ctr.cmzi.uk is now a download page for a native Windows and Linux port, not a browser game. Its roadmap lists the browser build as coming back later; we will relist it then. Looking for something playable right now? Try Smash Karts, Snow Rider 3D or browse all working browser ports.
The 1999 PS1 kart racer decompiled and rebuilt with widescreen support, custom cups and four-player split screen.
The project website currently offers Windows and Linux builds. Its roadmap lists bringing back the web browser build as planned work, without a release date. There is therefore no browser version to launch from this OttersPlay page as of 18 October 2026.
The native version retains the original tracks and handling while adding rendering options, widescreen support, frame-rate choices, custom cups and four-player split screen. Those are native-port features, not a promise that they are available in a browser today.
About the game
Crash Team Racing Turbocharged is a native PC port based on the community decompilation, through the High Octane and ctr-native projects. It is separate from a browser emulator or an instant-play web game.
Made by Cameron Redmore.
Quick facts
- Current downloads: Windows and Linux
- Browser build: planned, with no promised date
- Native setup requires data from an owned NTSC-U game disc
Questions about Crash Team Racing Turbocharged
Can I play Crash Team Racing Turbocharged in a browser?
Not from the current project site. It offers native Windows and Linux builds and lists returning the browser build on its roadmap.
When will the browser version return?
The developer has not promised a date. A roadmap entry is a plan, not a currently playable release.
Does the native port include the original game data?
No. The setup guide asks for a BIN image made from your own NTSC-U game disc. OttersPlay does not supply that data.
An independent browser port of a classic game, not an AI original. OttersPlay does not host game files and is not affiliated with the original publisher. Some projects require files from your own copy.
Project note: For racing you can play in a tab now, use the alternatives above. OttersPlay does not distribute a disc image or provide a native-game download.
