About Eaglercraft

A full browser port of Minecraft 1.8.8. Join public multiplayer servers, create single-player worlds, and explore without downloading anything.

Eaglercraft delivers the authentic vanilla Minecraft 1.8.8 experience right inside a browser tab. Players can generate standard single-player worlds with Survival, Creative and Hardcore modes, or connect to dozens of dedicated community multiplayer servers via WebSocket relays.

The client supports custom resource packs, texture packs, custom skins, sound packs, and adjustable graphics settings from render distance to smooth lighting and FOV.

Worlds can be saved locally in browser IndexedDB storage and exported as .epk or standard anvil format files for backup. It runs smoothly on Chromebooks, laptops, and modern mobile browsers with virtual touch controls.

About the game

Eaglercraft is an open-source browser port of Minecraft 1.8.8 (and 1.5.2/1.12), recompiling original Java bytecode into JavaScript and WebAssembly using TeaVM. It runs client-side inside the browser engine, implementing custom OpenGL ES shaders via WebGL and a WebSocket gateway for multiplayer networking.
